LOCATION
Aiken is located off of Interstate 20, 17 miles from Augusta, Georgia, approximately 60 miles from Columbia, South Carolina and two and one half hours from Atlanta, Georgia. Aiken Municipal Airport, a small airport that allows private airplanes and coporate jets, is located between the city of Aiken and Interstate 20. Airports with major airlines are in Augusta, Columbia and Atlanta. The mountains of North Carolina and the coast of South Carolina are both only two-and-one-half-hour drives away from the City of Aiken.

Aiken's proximity to the Sandhills regions and the low country makes the climate relatively temperate in comparison to the cooler Piedmont/up-state regions of South Carolina that are closer to mountains. Aiken's annual average temperature is 63.2 degrees, with an average rainfall of 43.1 inches. The average high is 75.5 degrees and the average low is 50.9 degrees.
